For validation purposes, a 3-station scenario-based skills and written-cognitive examination will be administered. There will be 20 Practical Exercise periods prior to skills validation that are tailored to the individual student skill-set. Medics will be challenged and validated on their ability to integrate advanced concepts of Tactical Combat Casualty Care, Patient Movement Procedures, Sick Call and BAS Operations, Triage, Trauma and Medical Treatment, Communication and Documentation in addition to a wide array of medically-focused elective training material while immersed in simulated operational environments and scenario-driven training. This is not a traditional NREMT refresher course. The CMTP is a hybrid course, combining training packages from a selection of premier programs of instruction as well as unique courseware designed to enhance critical thinking skills and medical experience as required while operationally functioning as a military medic. A final skill verification examination, the Combat Casualty Assessment, is conducted following execution of the culminating events of the Field Training Exercise (FTX) and War Days.Ġ81-300-68W-CMT Comprehensive Medical Training This Phase is 120 hours and contains one written examination after the Fieldcraft 3 module. Phase 3 is a collective Phase which incorporates aspects of both Phase 1 and Phase 2 and focuses on how the Army Medical Department integrates these skills through the 68W MOS in an operational capacity. It culminates with skills verification testing aptly named Whiskey Skills Validation. This phase is 128 hours in duration and consists of three modules Limited Primary Care, Fieldcraft 1 and Fieldcraft 2 each with associated written examinations to conclude each module. Focus is placed on the scope of practice of a 68W both in a clinical setting as well as in the field. Phase 2 builds upon the baseline medical skills and knowledge obtained from Phase 1. This phase is 133 hours encompassing a total of seven (7) modules and associated written examinations, skills competency demonstration through the NREMT Psychomotor Examination, and culminates with the NREMT Computer Adaptive Test (CAT). The course consists of three phases: Phase 1 is consists of preparation and testing to obtain certification as a National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) EMT, a credential tied to the 68W MOS.
